Supervision

Supervisees / Licensees must submit a Supervision Agreement Form within thirty (30) days of application or employment. If there is a change in supervisors, the Supervisee must complete another Supervision Agreement Form and turn it in to the Board within thirty (30) days of such change. Licensees may only be supervised by a Speech-Language Pathologist or Audiologist who holds a current, unsuspended, unrevoked license in accordance with Act 892.

Supervisees / Licensees should complete all supervision requirements consistent with the license held and immediately thereafter submit appropriate supervision forms to the board office along with a written request for a license upgrade. Supervisees must remain in supervision until their license is upgraded.

LBESPA does not specify a minimum amount of supervision per work setting. Weekly, quarterly, or annual supervision may be obtained in either work setting but some supervision must occur in all work settings.

Supervisory records, including supervision logs and other documentation of supervision, shall be maintained by both the supervisor and supervisee for a period of 3 years. Documentation of supervision may be requested by the board. Submission of inaccurate or falsified supervision documentation may result in disciplinary action.

Individuals may not be supervised by a provisional licensee, restricted licensee, assistant licensee, an individual on inactive status, a telehealth registrant, or an immediate family member.
